Facebook, smartphones, and exercise

The Jaredite nation, we read in Ether 1:43, "And there will I bless thee and thy seed, and raise up unto me of thy seed, and of the seed of thy brother, and they who shall go with thee, a great nation. And there shall be none greater than the nation which I will raise up unto me of thy seed, upon all the face of the earth. And thus I will do unto thee because this long time ye have cried unto me." Sorry USA, not quite the best ever.   In light of recent events why do bad things happen to people like natural disasters? Zone conference was all about prepping us to use technology, and how we need to remember that we are here to help others come unto Christ. It is very interesting having that access to the world. A bit freaky. But after that we have our smartphone, it is a samsung so i am used to the operating system which is super nice, Elder M keeps double tapping the home button to try to change screens but instead it takes him to the camera. But it i...

Tumbleweeds, Facebook, Mosquito

Spoken word has more power behind it, but it is a lot easier to study written words. This one is a bit interesting, what is the greatest nation ever? Monday night we had to run down into Muscoy to help a lady secure some stuff from the winds, it was crazy there was garbage cans blown down the streets tipped over, with trash everywhere. Also TUMBLEWEEDS! Those things are incredibally annoying and poky. At this point I have had to use Spanish twice now to talk to people and I have had varying degrees of success. I was talking to him about soccer, it was great fun. In district meeting we had a lesson to prepare us for the technology changes coming our way. We have a new two pages about online proselyting in the missionary handbook, and we have a two page change to Chapter eight in preach my gospel so we know do all of our planning a little bit. Probably the highlight of the meeting though was during a roleplay. One missionary was telling how he saw a couple ki...

New Companion & the Dentist

There was more but it didnt save my draft for some reason, i did not feel like rewriting the whole thing. If you are in a dark cave and can see a light, hope is the light, no light, you have no hope, belief is understanding that reaching the light will bring good, and faith is the act of walking towards the light. Jesus Christ is that light, and faith is an action, you must DO something.  What does the spoken word do better than written word, and vice versa? After 5 days, Elder M, seems great, he is a Chair Force [ Air Force ]  kiddie, he loves planes, and is quite the way history buff. He came out on his mission from Georgia, but lived in Utah most his life, and is returning there. He also is a bit more adventurous than Elder BB with cooking, as in he actually cooks. He also has lots of stories, he reminds me alot of Jacob in that way. He is more a war and plane buff, while Jacob has got the politics down.  District meeting was super exciting. I had ...

And that's a Transfer!

Image
Leaving Space for Jesus I did it, I made it through a Transfer [ a six week period after which one or both missionaries in a pair are moved to a new location]  without my trainer acting on his impulse to strangle me, it can be done! We come from the Premortal life , ask your local Mormon about that one What is the difference between hope, belief, and faith? The Zone activity was a blast, we had hamburgers, unfortunately over the course of the week we became less thankful. Steak and hamburger, way too much. Too much. We went to visit Sister C an older lady in the ward, it turns out she was hilarious, we noticed she had a roommate to watch over her and help her, and so we decided to teach the Restoration and her roommate decided to listen in and she ended up asking questions, and she is now an investigator. She asked us what our opinion on visions are, why were the Apostles called away from their family if family is so important. And we were like those ...
