And that's a Transfer!
Leaving Space for Jesus |
I did it, I made it through a Transfer [a six week period after which one or both missionaries in a pair are moved to a new location] without my trainer acting on his impulse to strangle me, it can be done!
We also
had a dinner with this awesome family, they make great food, have funny
kids running around, and have a great testimony. We invited them to
prepare to go to the temple. I love the temple, and the peace, calm, and
Spirit it brings into my day. The 4 year old also has a real quad. Thats
pretty sweet. They made a track for her to ride around in, in the
backyard out of tires.
We
also were helping a member with family history and it was cool because
he had nothing then we put in a couple names and all of the sudden he
was connected to back in the 700's. He was excited we were excited.
Family history work is a grand old time.
We come from the Premortal life, ask your local Mormon about that one
What is the difference between hope, belief, and faith?
The
Zone activity was a blast, we had hamburgers, unfortunately over the
course of the week we became less thankful. Steak and hamburger, way too
much. Too much.
We went
to visit Sister C an older lady in the ward, it turns out she was
hilarious, we noticed she had a roommate to watch over her and help her,
and so we decided to teach the Restoration and her roommate decided to
listen in and she ended up asking questions, and she is now an
investigator. She asked us what our opinion on visions are, why were the
Apostles called away from their family if family is so important. And
we were like those are excellent questions and we answered them. She
seemed like she was intrigued. I am super excited to see what happens
with her!
Also we helped
move the furniture around in a lady's home at 7, and she was right next
to a high school, it was a bit of nostalgic time.
Also
a member of the bishopric is a mechanical engineer in the aerospace
field. It is good to see an example of success in my desired career
path. He also did about 5 hours of service for us on a Friday night. He
is a total beast.

We also had Del Taco alot, so we ended up one day for dinner having a milkshake and a churro. They both were fairly tasty.

Also
I got my Tiwi card, so I can now drive mission vehicles. I needed it
because on Friday we went on splits and it was with another elder who
came out at the same time as me. We were in his area so that was pretty
exciting, we had dinner with the same sister as last time, the one with
the really good tacos, and she started up a bit of a competition to see
who can eat the most tacos. I threw my hat in the ring with 12 tacos. It
was unfortunate because they didn't taste as good when I started
getting into the double digits. While on splits we met the coolest kid
ever, we never got his name but he chatted with us as we were going down
a street and telling us who was home, who wasn't, who was mean, who had
dogs. We were about to knock on his house and then a woman stormed out
and started yelling at her neighbor, so we moved along, which was sad
because that kid was pretty cool.
"Hope" by Steven Snow in 2011 is also a good one. I am so glad we have living
prophets and apostles today, sharing God's word with us. We can learn so
much, and I did this weekend. The Lord spoke to the World this weekend,
did you hear it? Were you listening?
We
got to do some service, but it was scheduled right between the
sessions [General Conference twice a year we listen to 5 sessions or broadcasts of our church leaders teaching us], so we ran out of there, drove halfway up to Devore from our
building on Northpark , and did the service and arrived back just in
time for the next session. It was great.
Sunday
was a great day for many reasons, General Conference was a blast, I was
a bit sad to see it end. We had a baptismal interview as well between
sessions Sunday, and that is always a joyous occasion.
I
was also sad to hear that Elder Hales had passed away. When his words
were being shared at the end you know we were all paying close
attention.
Also the news
you actually all were waiting for, we were leaving our dinner
appointment, and we see a text from President Dixon saying "when you
have the chance give me a call", we were like "UHHHHH". And so Elder
B gave him a call. And Elder B has been kicked out, to the
Oleander ward in Fontana to be exact. He will also be the Zone leader, I
was so excited! He was just glad to not have to do district meeting,
Monday night's he got SO stressed. So that leaves me in Hallmark, with
and Elder M, not much is known about him, hopefully he is as great
as Elder B.
