Orange is my favorite color

I honestly don't know If this is a repeat, but what is the purpose of life?

Monday we had an incredibly weird dinner, the dad didn't stop talking the whole time. His wife and daughter started ignoring him and started quoting spongebob at each other. We sat there super confused. But we had a good time, we also had a really good lesson with someone we have been teaching for a bit, she got baptized Saturday and so it was our last lesson beforehand. We read 2 Nephi 31 with her. It talks all about what we can do to draw closer to Christ, and be better people. It's a good scripture I would recommend it immensely.

Also we made a gingerbread house that night, elder Williamson got it from his family. It was a blast. However I learned that I can't believe it's not butter does not have the same cooking properties as real butter. The things you learn on a mission. 


Tuesday we biked up a hill they use for Olympic qualifiers to get to dinner, it was a blast, however, walking might have been faster. We have really been pushing #LighttheWorld and I hope the missionaries wherever people are reading this are. It is awesome and will help you be happy, the scriptures say so. 

 We also had a really cool lesson with a member family, they read the scriptures whenever the missionaries stop by so we read 2 Nephi 25 which is also a great scripture. 2 Nephi is a bit of a roller coaster.  It has some deep stuff, some Isiah chapters, some cool stuff. It's just barrels of fun, for those of you who don't know who Nephi is, ask my family he is pretty cool.

We stopped by a man living in an assisted living home, he was super nice, we read part of Ether 12 with him, it talks alot about how powerful faith is, and how miracles come by faith.

 Saturday we were in a parade, but prior to that we taped 600 jolly ranchers to pass along cards, it took forever, but we ended up handing out those and about 3000 pass along cards for light the World total.  It was a yearly Redlands parade, and we had a great time, I nearly lost my voice yelling merry Christmas, and if you run down to the city hall, for 40 bucks you can get a DVD of the whole thing. Or you could check out Facebook. Hopefully it introduces some people to Light the World, and they end up doing it.

Sunday was a great day for multiple reasons

1. It was fast Sunday and we got to hear some testimonies
2. One guy stood up and said, this is my first time at a Mormon church, I want the joy that Mormons seem to have, and everyone turned around and stared at us
3. We watched the Christmas devotional which was excellent
4. After the Christmas devotional, the member at the house we were at gave me a cup of whipped cream for dessert
5. I am a missionary


On the citrus front, our apartment buddies, found a clementine tree that is ripe and so they brought some home, and they were fANtAStiC. I can't wait for the oranges. No citrus smell but it should happen soon.

We had a couple of really good visits this week where we were able to get back into contact with people we haven't heard from in a while, and we were able to answer questions about what exactly we believe. We were able to talk to a lot of people on the streets as well this week, and for anyone who knows about or has been to San Bernardino that is a great time.  This week we had a long pday activity where we hiked up in the mountains. And that's a Transfer!

Leaving Space for Jesus I did it, I made it through a Transfer [ a six week period after which one or both missionaries in a pair are moved to a new location]  without my trainer acting on his impulse to strangle me, it can be done! We come from the Premortal life , ask your local Mormon about that one What is the difference between hope, belief, and faith? The Zone activity was a blast, we had hamburgers, unfortunately over the course of the week we became less thankful. Steak and hamburger, way too much. Too much. We went to visit Sister C an older lady in the ward, it turns out she was hilarious, we noticed she had a roommate to watch over her and help her, and so we decided to teach the Restoration and her roommate decided to listen in and she ended up asking questions, and she is now an investigator. All you can eat KFC 2/4/2019

Last Monday we heard rumors about a buffet, all you can eat KFC out in banning, so we went out and snooped around. IT IS TRUE! It was 10 bucks and they had it all out on buffet so it was a lot of fun, nomming on 10 pieces of chicken (it eventually started to taste like nothing but grease and fat, so we stopped). It was a good time, and I am good on KFC for a long time. I like Popeyes way better anyway. We had a really good week of getting in contact with people we haven't had contact with for quite a while, as well as people we were just trying to get in contact with. So it was really nice to sit down, chat with them, and see how they are doing. We were also able to have a family home evening with a family we are teaching and it was a lot of fun to do object lessons with them, and see the light go on so to speak as it helps them make the connection.
