Bit Nippy 12/31/2018

Image
It has been around the 40s with wind at night, so I actually have had to wear both a sweater AND my windbreaker jacket. Thank you for those who sent me and my companion tissues because are noses run faster then we bike. I was able to go on exchanges back to Samoan land, I had forgotten why I loved them so much. 1 reason among many, was one house we stopped by gave us a whole cherry cheesecake. I am so easily impressed. We got to stop by alot of members of the Rialto 2nd ward again It was also nice because we were in car so I got to rest up a bit. From Elder Bearman does it again side of things, I was super thirsty and tired one night, and so I was refilling my water bottle, and forgot to screw the nozzle back on, so when I lifted it to drink it all spilled everywhere. So I am still me. Last week we were able to play tennis with our ward mission leader who was pretty good, it was way more fun than playing basketball like usual. -Elder Bearman It is way too c...

The temple is always the highlight of a week 12/24/2018

We were able to go worship in the temple this week, which was fantastic, it is always super peaceful in there. We also saw quite a few members from the Prospect park ward and the Baseline ward, which have been previous areas for both me and my companion. It was also good to be back in Redlands again. We also have been caroling quite a bit recently, it has been super fun to sing a christmas song, show people a light the world video, and then invite them to learn more, and ask who else would like a song sung to them. We have been able to sing for quite a few friends on one street because they enjoyed the singing. Probably because we are funny to watch, enthusiasm trumps skill all of the time. We also went caroling with the youth, which while there aren't that many, they are lots of fun. The invitation Sunday, yesterday was alot of fun, we had a lot of member families we are working with show up, it was really good to see them make it out. We also made a trip to Don...

"My Dad is a pastor out in Maryland" 12/17/2018

This week My companion and I just got out of a lesson and walked our bikes over to  guy who was taking a break outside of his apartment. We got to talking about religion, strangely enough, and he threw out that his dad was a pastor in Maryland, and I wasn't sure I heard him right because I was a bit behind my companion, but my companion looked over at me with a knowing look, so I knew that I had heard right. So we got to talking and it turns out that he lived in Germantown around the corner from the sportsplex, and he went to Seneca Valley high school, and that lots of his family went to Wheaton. So that was really fun to meet someone who knows exactly where I am from. We also got to stop by the Rialto 2nd ward Christmas party, because the Elders serving in that ward still don't know everyone, so they invited us along so we could introduce them to the people that we know. So I got to see a lot of old friends. Elder S and I have been talking to quite a few people, in...

Talking to People 12/10/2018

This week we just talked to people, we spent a good chunk of this week just trying to be out and about and share the Light the World Christmas message with as many people as we can, we were able to share it with others, and the message of service is amazing, lots of people really liked it. The articles of faith came really in handy this week as well, we met a lady who told us she read about our religion on the internet. So we asked her what she learned, and she asked us to quickly tell our beliefs, so we shared some of the first couple ones, like how we belief in God the father and in his son Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost. And her attitude changed completely, so she probably read some super wackadoo stuff on the internet, what a great place. On the smooth moves side, we made hamburger helper for dinner because we were in a rush, so we browned the beef, and poured the grease into a container. When we got back, the grease was solid on top, so I picked it up to look at it ...

The Hail Waited For Us 12/3/2018

Now that we were put on bike, it thunder  stormed with a side of hail, thankfully we managed to arranged it so we didn't have to bike in the bad weather. it was starting to flood, but that is just because Colton has bad drain systems. Elder S is from Lehi, he came out with me, he is a gearhead, and he has been on bike for over a year. He has like 6 siblings. Also our transfer day was exciting, we had a group coming in from the desert, and they got lost coming in, so most of our day was spent waiting for one Elder. We also ran around a lot before we lost the car to say goodbye to all of the Rialto 2nd ward which was super sad. There might be some pictures included. We also did a lot of biking, so much so, that I blew an old patch and punctured it again. A less active member was nice enough to lend me a spare tube, so that cut down the repair time quite a bit. I missed being on bike. For the world wide day of service, we walked up the main street, Mt Vernon,...
