Watermelon is a good idea 11/5/2018
Last Monday we were invited to carve pumpkins, however we
decided that you can carve a watermelon and actually eat the insides. So that
was what we did and it was a big success, so much so that I will probably carve
watermelons the rest of my life, we also made watermelon juice with all of the
juice we squeezed out.
We got to go to two Halloween parties because we cover 2
wards. Colton 1st had their party the day before Halloween, it was a tri-ward
event and it had hundreds of people, we then got to display our watermelon to
the adoring public. The Rialto 2nd ward had theirs more focused to the kids so
we were able to talk to parents for 2 hours while the kids ran around, they
also had a cotton candy maker which definitely was a plus.
We also were able to do some super fun service, a member had
a deck that was falling apart, so we got to help them demolish the deck.
Destroying things is way too much fun.
Then I went on exchanges with the Inland Empire Elders and
they are the other Samoan ward and they cover pretty much the whole mission as
well as quite a bit outside of the mission. So we went out side the mission and
spent quite a bit of time out there. (For those who are not aware, it is really
rare to leave the mission, most missionaries never leave when they are on their
mission)
Then we had a crazy Sunday where everybody decided to come
to church in the Samoan ward, there were 2 non member families, a firmed of a
recent convert, and quite a few less active families as well, so it was super
crazy.
