What a week for general conference! 4/8/2019






This week was transfers, as well as general conference!

We had a really crazy week, my new companions bike was broken, so we had to spend a good chunk of Thursday going to the shop in Redlands, then a family we are working with was out in Redlands and asked us for a blessing, so we headed back over with the Elders Quorom president. Brother Padilla is a champ, he also took us to Dairy Queen, so all around the best.
 
We also were able to watch general conference in lots of member homes. So that was super fun to get to spend that time with them. We also were able to watch it with a friend we are teaching.

Probably my favorite talk from general conference was from Elder Stevenson, where he talked about how we constantly have temptation thrown at us, so we need to have a game plan so we can go in prepared, what we want to do to overcome and not succumb.

We had a couple of really good visits this week where we were able to get back into contact with people we haven't heard from in a while, and we were able to answer questions about what exactly we believe. We were able to talk to a lot of people on the streets as well this week, and for anyone who knows about or has been to San Bernardino that is a great time.  This week we had a long pday activity where we hiked up in the mountains. And that's a Transfer!

Leaving Space for Jesus I did it, I made it through a Transfer [ a six week period after which one or both missionaries in a pair are moved to a new location]  without my trainer acting on his impulse to strangle me, it can be done! We come from the Premortal life , ask your local Mormon about that one What is the difference between hope, belief, and faith? The Zone activity was a blast, we had hamburgers, unfortunately over the course of the week we became less thankful. Steak and hamburger, way too much. Too much. We went to visit Sister C an older lady in the ward, it turns out she was hilarious, we noticed she had a roommate to watch over her and help her, and so we decided to teach the Restoration and her roommate decided to listen in and she ended up asking questions, and she is now an investigator. She asked us what our opinion on visions are, why were the Apostles called away from their family if family is so important. And we were like those ...

All you can eat KFC 2/4/2019

Last Monday we heard rumors about a buffet, all you can eat KFC out in banning, so we went out and snooped around. IT IS TRUE! It was 10 bucks and they had it all out on buffet so it was a lot of fun, nomming on 10 pieces of chicken (it eventually started to taste like nothing but grease and fat, so we stopped). It was a good time, and I am good on KFC for a long time. I like Popeyes way better anyway. We had a really good week of getting in contact with people we haven't had contact with for quite a while, as well as people we were just trying to get in contact with. So it was really nice to sit down, chat with them, and see how they are doing. We were also able to have a family home evening with a family we are teaching and it was a lot of fun to do object lessons with them, and see the light go on so to speak as it helps them make the connection.
