Retro Shoe Laces 3/4/2019


I broke a shoelace on my basketball shoes, so I had to go shopping for some new ones. Thing about Yucaipa is that it doesn't have many chain stores. So we went into the local sho repair place, he had just a couple of pairs of shoe laces. And the packages all were covered in dust, and yellow. They had been there a really long time. So I grab the ones I thought were the right size (they are about a foot too long) and took them to the counter. The guy who was there just said to take them, since they are super old. Turns out they are thin but an inch wide. They are super awesome. 

A miracle we saw this week was that we had a couple people show up to worship with us this week! We stopped by Alan at 8:15 to wake him up for church, so he was there, as was a part member couple. Anthony is way cool, he wore a cowboy hat to church! 

We also were finally able to take our bikes into the shop, so now they work properly again. Elder L's bike made a super weird growling noise when braking. Mine couldn't shift properly and they both were super dirty. 

Another thing that happened is we did some cleaning up for people who hoarded for years. It was a lot of stuff, a lot of fun and also we were able to save some things from being disposed off. I got 8 pretty good condition Calvin and hobbes books! 

Lastly we have been able to have a really good week, we have met new people, as well as have been able to contact some people who have been super busy!

We had a couple of really good visits this week where we were able to get back into contact with people we haven't heard from in a while, and we were able to answer questions about what exactly we believe. We were able to talk to a lot of people on the streets as well this week, and for anyone who knows about or has been to San Bernardino that is a great time.  This week we had a long pday activity where we hiked up in the mountains. And that's a Transfer!

Leaving Space for Jesus I did it, I made it through a Transfer [ a six week period after which one or both missionaries in a pair are moved to a new location]  without my trainer acting on his impulse to strangle me, it can be done! We come from the Premortal life , ask your local Mormon about that one What is the difference between hope, belief, and faith? The Zone activity was a blast, we had hamburgers, unfortunately over the course of the week we became less thankful. Steak and hamburger, way too much. Too much. We went to visit Sister C an older lady in the ward, it turns out she was hilarious, we noticed she had a roommate to watch over her and help her, and so we decided to teach the Restoration and her roommate decided to listen in and she ended up asking questions, and she is now an investigator. She asked us what our opinion on visions are, why were the Apostles called away from their family if family is so important. And we were like those ...

All you can eat KFC 2/4/2019

Last Monday we heard rumors about a buffet, all you can eat KFC out in banning, so we went out and snooped around. IT IS TRUE! It was 10 bucks and they had it all out on buffet so it was a lot of fun, nomming on 10 pieces of chicken (it eventually started to taste like nothing but grease and fat, so we stopped). It was a good time, and I am good on KFC for a long time. I like Popeyes way better anyway. We had a really good week of getting in contact with people we haven't had contact with for quite a while, as well as people we were just trying to get in contact with. So it was really nice to sit down, chat with them, and see how they are doing. We were also able to have a family home evening with a family we are teaching and it was a lot of fun to do object lessons with them, and see the light go on so to speak as it helps them make the connection.
