Emails 4/1/2019


We got transfers and I am staying, but Elder B is my new companion! He sat next to me on the plane ride out, and I have served around him for over 6 months. He is from Spanish fork and was in the same ward as the Dixons back in Utah. He is a baseball player, and a hunter. 

So my draft deleted itself, so very little motivation to write


I am getting a new companion Wednesday, I have served around him for 6 months, and he is from Spanish fork

We had a really good week, Alan came to church
 
We were able to meet some new members

At a meeting we had a fat tie day, and my previous companions both took fat ties from me and they wore them to the meeting

We Tie Dyed Baby!

In honor of the 4th we tie dyed some shirts, it was alot of fun, we are going around today all matched up. Mom, my self haircut worked out again. It took an hour total and a little help in the back. I am pretty much a professional now. In other news we had about 4 new people move into the ward so we were biking around quite a bit, trying to introduce ourselves. We actually did a lot of biking around trying to introduce ourselves to members. That has been a big focus in the past couple of months in the mission field is getting to know and helping and working with the members.  This week we also baked a cake for a returning members birthday, we biked to the store bought the mix. Baked the cake and biked with it to there house, it was a lot of fun. They also had misplaced there turtle so we looked for him for 15 minutes    Also fireworks are pretty illegal everywhere in California. Music, losing things, running into friends and relatives

Evan and friend Elder R So on Sunday I woke up super early in the morning and i sat there for a long time trying to decide if it was me accidentally waking up or whether I had heard my companion talking (I was dreaming that we were doing companion study). The reason I didn't want to get out is because I am on the top bunk with no ladder so it takes some effort to get in and out of bed. Then we had district meeting which was taught by a companionship, it was pretty meh, but someone made an excellent point and nd I was like WOOOOOOOAH! which actually occurs almost every day here I am always learning something new, and I love that. Also we were talking about the creation and one dude said he was thankful he was for how green Utah was and I was like, "NO BOI".  Anyway afterwards we had our branch meeting, he announced us noobs [ new arrivals for us old people ] which was two districts, and then who was leaving, I think there were three districts leav...

Missions are full of miracles

My favorite thing as a missionary is the miracle of people you are trying to get into contact with  replying to your text, or returning a call. And that happened this week, so put that in the record books. I met the bishop and he is awesome. He is a chemical engineer who is an inventor on the side. He made a coconut milk to biodiesel thing that is self sufficient and it is in Tonga. He also invented a nail polish remover that doesn't strip the nails. He named it after his daughter. Meanwhile we had a bit of an ant genocide, the elders left some trash when they left and we just found it. We followed the trail of ants, so one of the Elders in the apartment got the Windex and sprayed them down. We have won the war. We also did service for a man with a turtle named Toby. Everything else is irrelevant.  We had an excellent zone conference, I learned how to be a missionary, it was great! We learned how to receive revelation, as well as helping the investigators ...
