The star of this week... JENNY!
This week was a week where the attention was on my bike,
Jenny. It started off well with friday the first super hot day pushing 114,
where I ran over a staple. So I picked them out of my tire, and the tube seemed
to be holding air. Then we went out biking and the heat expanded the tires letting
all of the air out. So after limping back to the apartment, and patching it up,
back out we went. However my tire lost all of its air again, so figuring that I
am a dingus and can't patch tires I tried to repatch it. Well it lost its air
again, and I discovered that the heat was just melting the glue to my patches
so that was wonderful. So then an awesome member bailed us out. Let us come
inside, water and cool off while he patched the tube and put in a different
one. Then the new tube started losing air, because the piece that seals the air
in the valve came loose. So we biked back and fixed that. All of that over
three days. So there was alot of time spent in the garage :)
BUT...we met quite a few people that wanted us to come back
and chat this upcoming week, there are 4 different families that we got in
contact with in different ways that want us to come over and talk about Jesus
Christ. So it has been a really exciting week and we are sooper dooper excited
for next week.
Also in fontana they believe strongly in fireworks on the
4th of July so everyone all over town buys fireworks and shoot them off, from
7:30 when it started to get dark, to about 11, people were blowing off
fireworks. One of the pictures shows a launching site. We growled some hamburgers
amd bacon wrapped hotdogs at our apartment, and enjoyed the show, also the days
leading up to the 4th people were blowing off fireworks as well. Happy Birthday
America!
We also are helping a someone out by walking their Dobermans
in the morning, because they can't. So this was our first walk, with the person
to show us the ropes.
We also had zone sports last Monday, so we ran around for a
couple of hours which is hard. Running is tough.
Also an Elder in the apartment wasn't feeling well so I wemt
with his companion to their church services. And it was in Spanish, so I got to
learn that I don't know Spanish. I was at least able to recognize if someone
was talking to me. But then it was weird to go back to the Baseline Ward
services and have it all in English. My poor little brain got fried. But the
spirit was there and it was cool to see that no matter where you go or what
language it is in, the gospel remains the same.
That is a lot of words so I will call it an email,
Elder Bearman
This week it got hot
I got to go serve in Spanishland
Bike was nothing but trouble
