Toby the Turtle


Happy Mothers day!



Pictures of myself as requested. It was great to phone home, though, next time there will be another Brother... IN LAW!

This week was awesome, we are visiting pretty much everyone we can, since both of us are new to the area, so we are meeting some really fun people. There is one guy who has a whole room of his house dedicated to Star Wars memorabilia. He has life sized statues of Jar Jar, Yoda, and Darth Maul, and hundreds of action figures.

There is this one guy we are working with, who hasn't been to church in a while, and is looking to start coming again, and we were talking about how being a worthy preisthood holder will bless his family, and he got super happy and excited,then when we taught about the Book of Mormon, he said he never really understood it before and why it was relevant to him, but now he wants to read the whole thing! What a book!


We also did service for this one guy who is cleaning out his backyard, and it was so much fun, he has two super energetic dog that you have to wrestle to the ground before you can pet them because they jump all over. He also has a turtle named Toby, who sometimes gets his lettuce stolen by the dogs. Poor Toby.

There is a really good Pupusa place close to the church and they have dollar Pupusas on Tuesdays. I am excited for district meetings!

We also heard that someone is trying to make a movie about Captain Moroni, called Reign of Judges: Title of Liberty. It will probably be rated R for violence though.

I was doing a device audit, and I noticed on Facebook a hilarious conversation between David and I when we were trying to go blow up fireworks, good times!

We had a couple of really good visits this week where we were able to get back into contact with people we haven't heard from in a while, and we were able to answer questions about what exactly we believe. We were able to talk to a lot of people on the streets as well this week, and for anyone who knows about or has been to San Bernardino that is a great time.  This week we had a long pday activity where we hiked up in the mountains. And that's a Transfer!

Leaving Space for Jesus I did it, I made it through a Transfer [ a six week period after which one or both missionaries in a pair are moved to a new location]  without my trainer acting on his impulse to strangle me, it can be done! We come from the Premortal life , ask your local Mormon about that one What is the difference between hope, belief, and faith? The Zone activity was a blast, we had hamburgers, unfortunately over the course of the week we became less thankful. Steak and hamburger, way too much. Too much. We went to visit Sister C an older lady in the ward, it turns out she was hilarious, we noticed she had a roommate to watch over her and help her, and so we decided to teach the Restoration and her roommate decided to listen in and she ended up asking questions, and she is now an investigator. All you can eat KFC 2/4/2019

Last Monday we heard rumors about a buffet, all you can eat KFC out in banning, so we went out and snooped around. IT IS TRUE! It was 10 bucks and they had it all out on buffet so it was a lot of fun, nomming on 10 pieces of chicken (it eventually started to taste like nothing but grease and fat, so we stopped). It was a good time, and I am good on KFC for a long time. I like Popeyes way better anyway. We had a really good week of getting in contact with people we haven't had contact with for quite a while, as well as people we were just trying to get in contact with. So it was really nice to sit down, chat with them, and see how they are doing. We were also able to have a family home evening with a family we are teaching and it was a lot of fun to do object lessons with them, and see the light go on so to speak as it helps them make the connection.
