Prospect Park on a Bike
What we do in temples is make more covenants, or promises, like at
baptism, with Heavenly Father. One of them is getting sealed to our
families, for time and all eternity.
Angus Mccurdys is probably the best hamburger place ever.
This week, who visits the Americas in the Book of Mormon?
Mom
I made my first batch of cookies Monday, and the oven burned them
pretty good on the bottom so that was super sad. But the tops are
delicious! Also we were out walking around a neighborhood and a member
gave us a call and asked, do you want some cake? And we were like sure,
what's it for? And he said, oh me and my wife just wanted cake and when
you are an adult you can just go but a cake.
Also
the Christmas initiative is coming up, and we are starting to show the
video at dinners, have you guys back home seen it? It should be a very
fun Christmas. Tuesday I was so fried, I was super stressed and saying
goodbye to people was not fun, I like them. Thankfully after transfers
the stress went away.
Prospect Park is an interesting area, half it is is on a slight hill up to the
other half where most the members live which is some straight hills, I
will try to get a picture of them. Also in the highlights the temple is
in our area! And we meet at the church building next to it!
I
had a good week in studies I am starting the Book of Mormon over again,
and i read 1 Nephi 8 about the tree of life. Then I just noticed that
in later chapters it gets explained and alluded to. That is a chapter to
read and reread.
We
played basketball and this group is nowhere near as good as last
transfer. However we played with some old men, and they were hilarious,
one dude had a mean hook shot. Elder Williamson is pretty good though,
so beat to teach is a possibility.
12
week is interesting, going through it again, except this time I have to
be doing the teaching, so I am learning alot more, you only really know
the subject if you can teach it. That applies to everything.
We
went to Loma Linda Friday night, and sang SDA hymns to people in the
hospital. It was an strange but awesome experience. They have some weird
hymns about some weird things, but overall they are super nice. Also
the first lady we ended up singing to was Mormon. So we sang some of our
hymns. It was a great experience and it got me excited for the caroling
season.
Also we did some
service at a mansion, we made it christmasy, but it is like a straight
up mansion with gardens, and a walkway and fountains, and koi ponds.
Some people have a lot of money.

We
had a lesson with a lady who decided to get baptized in two weeks. So
we have to teach her all of the lessons in that time frame, it is crazy!
Also the bike ride up to her house is about 15 minutes of a steady
uphill, finished with a turn on to a 45 degree hill, for about 20 yards.
Biking is quite an adventure, because we end up at lessons sweaty and
out of breath.
Sunday was
crazy because the Redlands stake got ward boundry changes two weeks
ago, I didn't know anyone, but also my companion only knows half of the
people. And guess what, they don't have a ward mission leader either.
Who needs them anyway? We also taught sharing time in junior and senior
primary. We also stepped into relief society to answer some questions.
Everyone decided to have a lesson on missionary work, all at the same
time. But it was awesome and lots of people got to see me.
Then
we got to go help a guy set up his Zoroastrian stuff, there was chalk
and stuff, and he was a funny guy. He was yelling stuff like,
"cleanliness is next to godliness...or something like that.
I am doing sweet, I love my new companion and area, and there are good things to come in the next 5ish weeks.

P.S. the oranges are looking real good
Biking up hills, no fun
But my thighs are looking like watermelons
The work is the best
