Elder Evan's Epistles

God loves us because we are his children! He wants us to succeed. Now for some questions of the soul, where do we come from? Last pday was a bit exciting. We played " kittens in the blender ", and most of us were not cat people, so we ended up saving 12 or less kittens. I was only sad when they blended my spirit cat, chubbs, who was this fat cat. It reminds me of a nickname of mine, Tubbs. Love ya Max. Dinner at members houses are so stressful, we have to eat enough so they think we like it, but not too much that we eat them out of the house. So Elder B turned to me and said, your job is to pig out, and I will hold back. That way we cover both ends, he also is trying to lose weight bless his soul. It is a losing battle, just gotta maintain it. I am still sitting under 175, take that Emma. My last question was more of a personal interpretation one Why does God love us? So we were knocking around a members home, and one time the door opened, we started talking, the person said not intrested and closed the door in our face. It was the first one like that, most people are religious so they at least say, we really think what you are doing is cool. But as we decided in the MTC, YES ADVERSITY! If it was easy, it would not be good, we are given difficulties in life so we can grow.  Also in that neighborhood we knocked on a door and heard, "it's the pizza man!" And we were like, what a disappointment, could we interest you in eternal life?. They were pretty good at hiding their disappointment though.  Than we had district meeting [ missionary training ], we talked about how Jesus Christ was our cornerstone and prophets was our foundation. And he was like the vegetables. Missions do weird things to you. Shopping is so much fun, we get to have new things to eat in the house. District meeting was great, we were having problems as a companionship with getting people to keep their commitments to come to church, so that was something he focused on. God spends all of his time helping us, Moses 1:39.  Over in the Yucaipa area there was a decently large wildfire. Large enough to cover half the sky where we were in smoke. We are like a stake [ group of congregations like a diocese ] away from them, but we could smell it and some ash would float down. Monday we discovered that it would be 110 or higher most of the week. The forecasters, were sadly correct in that assumption. However we did have another thunderstorm and the weather was 80 and humid, just like back home! I was told I was serving in the desert. What a disappointment We had ZONE CONFERENCE [ training for missionaries in an area ] on Tuesday, it was a good learning experience, but it was long. We learned about how to better work with our ward council [ group of leaders in a church congregation] , which is hard since I have been blessed with a really organized bishop [ Leader of a congregation ]  so the ward council is pretty good.
