The Summertime 7/29/2019

Happy birthday weekend to my sister and my mom, almost have the same birthdays. This week was hot and we had a lot of appointments so we were biking hard. It is good to be biking hard, but bad when you plan poorly and end up biking all over town and back. I went on exchanges to Spanish land and discovered just how far my Spanish has come and just how far it still has to go.  Joe is doing well, they decided that they want to get baptized as a family, so they moved back when they want to get baptized  Going to the temple this Wednesday -Elder Bearman Through Come follow me We met lots of new members Ward Choir is a blast The wiggles picture is for Anziano Higham, with his wiggles pinewood derby car. The random things you remember

A great sacrament meeting this week 8/15/2019

We are teaching a family, and they are doing really well, the majority of the family was able to come. And we got to sing with the choir in sacrament meeting and it went really well. We are super excited to keep working with them. Also in the flat tire news, I had to patch both the front and the back for slow leaks this time. I want to thank the parents for the patch kits they sent, I have used one full kit of patches. San Bernardino has a lot of glass and goatheads on the roads.  Besides that just a normal week, the weather cooled down to the mid 90Ę»s -Elder Bearman Baked some bread used the nifty bread maker ItĘ»s so convenient

Yet another weekly! 7/15/2019

This week was full of pumping up flat tires, to start off, I got a flat last week and patched it. But it was a bad job so it had a slow leak. So I tried fixing it failed. So I tried fixing it again like three times, failed. Then all of inflation and deflation led to my other patches breaking. So I replaced all three patches with new patches after a week of trying to repair one at a time. Then we ran through a patch of goatheads and I got another flat. But we were able to bike the 20 minutes back to the apartment before that happened. We were able to have some amazing visits with a man we are teaching named Joe, he tells him he just wants to learn what we have, and so it has been really amazing to share with him what we believe. He is really enjoying reading the Book of Mormon as well. Also we found a bread maker as we were running errands for the office so I made bread.  -Elder Bearman Hundred degrees baby!  Bread makers are way easy Bread is delic...

A week of excitement 7/8/2019

Image
For one we had the forth of July, and we had the usual fireworks and hubbub of San Bernardino in the 4th of July. In addition we had some earthquakes! We were far enough away that there was no damage, I didn't feel them at all. Other people said it was a little bit like being in a boat. This week we met with Joe again, and he is a champ. He wants to figure out what is try and try to reconnect to God and we are more than happy to help. We also took him to the Family History Center and he loved it there. While shopping last week Elder Dehl and I found an interesting item. It is a little pod for parents attending sports games in less than ideal weather. Keeps then warm and dry. We made ribs on the 4th of July with a member and his neighbor, it was fun to learn how to do that.  President McKinnon had his mission tour, we were able to hear from him as he sets up for these next three years. He seems like a champ, it is a shame I won't be with him for long.  ...

Bye bye, Dixons 7/1/2019

This last Thursday the Dixons went home, they finished their three years. I was able to meet the McKinnonʻs, the new Mission President. I shook his hand and it was kinda awkward because everyone had suits and ties and my companion and I were doing service, so we were in grunge clothes. That is his first impression. We also went to the mission office in rancho Cucamonga to take some of their furniture and we put it in our mission office. So that took up our whole Wednesday. We were able to have a lesson with someone we are teaching named rich. He his a rough patch in life a few years back and he is still trying to pull out of the problems with that. But he has talked to missionaries forever, and at first he said he wanted to be baptized during the Christmas season, but he decided to move it up to Labor day season. Hopefully we can figure out a way to help him learn more about why baptism is a thing. We sang with the ward choir the past two weeks in sacrament meeting which h...

That awkward moment you fat thumb and send an unwritten email 6/24/2019

We had a couple of really good visits this week where we were able to get back into contact with people we haven't heard from in a while, and we were able to answer questions about what exactly we believe. We were able to talk to a lot of people on the streets as well this week, and for anyone who knows about or has been to San Bernardino that is a great time.  This week we had a long pday activity where we hiked up in the mountains. So this will be a short email, but there is proof I exist!  -Elder Bearman President Dixon  Is an amazing leader  leaves us on Thursday

Back to the beginning... 6/17/2019

This week we had a hectic one, it concluded with us learning that my companion from November 2017 is going to be my roomate! It will be fun to catch up with him.  We had a shortened pday, last week, but even still we had a good time, including discovering there was a full sized statue of a woman placed on the street by the laundromat. Sadly when we went by it again it was no longer there for pictures. Also, we had a Tuesday where we drove around the mission and moved stuff around from 1 to 9. They were closing down some apartments, it was a good time. We drove to Fontana, then to Beaumont, then back to Highland.  Then we were able to go to the temple, which is always a good experience, and we were able to meet with a guy we hadn't seen in a while. We also were able to take a couple we are teaching on a temple tour. They really enjoyed it and it is always nice to see the temple Elder Bearman We drove all over Temples are the place to be The weather...
